Lower School Instructional Assistant

The Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a full-time Lower School Instructional Assistant for the 2017-2018 school year. The Lower School Instructional Assistant will work collaboratively with a lead classroom teacher to assist with whole and small group instruction, classroom preparation, and other tasks as directed.  Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors degree in a related field and experience and/or training working in a lower school classroom. The school seeks candidates who are skilled, creative, innovative, and adept at employing technology in the classroom. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.

K-8th Grade Art Teacher

Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a full-time Art Teacher for grades K-8 for the 2017-2018 school year.

The ACDS art program is known for nurturing the creative expression of all of our students, honoring and drawing out the individuality of our students, and empowering students with the technical skills they need to communicate their ideas artistically.  The successful candidate will demonstrate personal artistic skill, a creative and open-minded approach to instruction, and a flexible and collaborative orientation.

Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching art in a classroom setting to a wide range of ages and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. The school seeks growth-minded candidates who are skilled, creative, innovative and adept at employing technology in the classroom. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.

Substitute Teachers

Alexandria Country Day School is currently recruiting substitute teachers for the 2016-2017 school year. This position is on-call and as needed.

Qualified candidates must be enthusiastic, team players and have an appreciation of the unique qualities of the Kindergarten through 8th grade age group. A Bachelor’s degree and criminal background check are required. A background in education and classroom experience is preferred.
