AM/PM Care

  1. The AM and PM Care Programs are offered only to ACDS students and are sponsored and administered by ACDS.

  2. AM and PM Care Programs are available on a contract basis per trimester. Trimester-care contracts are billed and payable in three payments due September 30, December 31, and March 31.

  3. The programs can also be used on a "Drop-In" basis payable at $10 per hour, one-half hour minimum charge. "Drop-In" charges are billed monthly on the first of the month, due the end of the month.

  4. A ten percent contract discount for siblings and a lower rate of $7.50 per hour for concurrent sibling drop-ins is now offered and will be billed the same as tuition discounts.

  5. No child may attend PM Care if the child was not in attendance at school during the day.

  6. Once a child leaves campus at the end of the day, that child is assumed to be in the custody of their caretaker/guardian/parent for the remainder of the day and may not return to PM Care.

  7. There is PM Care on early dismissal days with the exception of the day before Thanksgiving, the day before Winter Break, and the last day of classes in June.

  8. New this year are the 3-day-a-week and 2-day-a-week programs. The days selected upon signing will remain in force for the trimester. Any days other than those assigned will be considered "drop-In" and billed as such.

  9. If you use PM Care on a contract basis and do not pick up your child on time (per the contract agreement), you will be charged $10 per hour, one-half hour minimum charge, for "overtime."

  10. In the event your child is not picked up by 6:00 p.m., overage charges will be incurred at a rate of $1 per minute.

  11. IMPORTANT: All children participating in AM or PM Care, whether for one day or every day of the school year, must provide proof of identity by bringing in a birth certificate to be reviewed by a staff member at ACDS. This is required by the Virginia Department of Social Services, Child Welfare.

  12. Children enrolled in the AM or PM Care programs must have emergency contact information and information authorizing release of the child to non-parent custodians on file with the Front Office. No child will be released to anyone other than parents unless permission and identification is received in writing prior to pick up. Parents, please keep this in mind when arranging after-school play dates for your children and their ACDS classmates.

  13. All children must be picked up by 6 p.m. In the event of an emergency, if you are not able to arrive by 6 p.m. to pick up your child, please contact the PM Care Supervisor before 6 p.m. to make arrangements.

  14. The same standards of conduct that apply during the school day are to be observed by students attending the AM or PM Care programs.

  15. Virginia State licensing information is on file and available for your review in the Main Office.
