The Fund for Excellence: Annual Giving at ACDS

Gifts to the Fund for Excellence are the foundation of all fundraising efforts at ACDS. As an independent school, ACDS does not receive funding from federal, state or local governments. In order to fund its annual budgetary needs, it relies almost exclusively on two sources:

  • Tuition, which is not tax deductible, provides 86% of the total budget; and

  • The Fund for Excellence, which bridges the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each child. Contributions to the Fund for Excellence are tax-deductible.

Being relatively young in age and small in size means that ACDS relies on its community including: parents, alumni parents, grandparents, alumni and friends to give generously in order to provide the outstanding educational programs you expect for your child. ACDS is fortunate to have families and friends who give generously of their time, talents and resources each year.

Every dollar donated to the Fund for Excellence is spent during the school year in which it is received. Monies from the Fund are used to sustain programs such as the Festival of Learning, Emerging Scholars Program, computers, faculty professional development, facility maintenance, and even buses for field trips.

The 2008-2009 Fund for Excellence goal is $175,000.
